"The band prove themselves to be every bit the modern-day champions of heavy metal, appropriately spawned in the genre’s birthplace” - UBER ROCK
The Mighty Wraith spring from the heavy metal heartland of Birmingham and the Black Country, with their imposing brand of galloping riffs, melodic leads and powerful sung vocals revealing a debt of gratitude to revered New Wave Of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) bands such as Iron Maiden and Local heavyweight Judas Priest, but they have built their name based on an intense and engaging live show which resonates with an energy and identity all of their own making.
Years of hard work gigging around the Midlands metal scene culminated in an opportunity to perform at Bloodstock Festival in 2015, the prize for a successful Metal for the masses campaign showcasing songs from 2014 debut album The Awakening. Two EPs followed in 2017, including the band's debut music video for the Outcast EP's title track. The second EP, Dragonheart, featured brand new song Conviction alongside reimagined versions of songs from The Awakening, demonstrating the evolution of the band's sound following the addition of bass player and backing vocalist Chis Musgrove .
The end of 2017 saw The Mighty Wraith host their own festival, Wraith Fest, in Birmingham at Mama Roux's, and recruit second guitarist Jamie Williams to the fold. Now, the focus is upon writing and recording the band's long-awaited second album, for an expected release in mid-2019.
